Born and raised in Turin (Italy) with her twin sister Benni, Sofi has always displayed a love for languages as a means to travel the world and understand different cultures. After her Foreign Languages and Literatures studies at university, she worked in Spain, China, USA, and finally landed in the UK, the place she now calls home. She has been teaching at different levels since 2011 but really discovered her passion for the job when she became a Montessori teacher in London in 2015.
2020 has given her the opportunity to readjust her career: she completed a start-up course and founded 1thousandays with the aim to combine Montessori philosophy and interior design and create integrated learning spaces in people's homes. Sofia recently started a new job as Deputy Manager in a Montessori Nursery in London and is truly excited about the learning curve ahead of her!
With an art historical background, Benni moved to London in 2011 for a masters in Modern and Contemporary Art. She has since worked in various auction houses, including Sotheby’s where she became a specialist in 19th Century European Art. She cultivated her passion for interior design on the side, following online courses, visiting fairs and shops whenever possible. In October 2020, Benni decided to quit her job to pursue other interests. She is now fully dedicating her time to 1thousandays, working in a mental health and wellbeing start-up, and focusing on her next career step.
